This Cookie Policy explains how aussietradesdirectory.com.au, a service operated under Greenhost, uses cookies and similar technologies. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies
allow the website to remember things about your visit — such as whether you are signed
in — the next time you return. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to
cover cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage and
sessionStorage) used for the same purposes.
2. Categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. Only Essential is active today.
2.1 Essential cookies (always on)
These cookies are necessary for the directory to work. We cannot turn them off because the site would stop functioning correctly without them. They are set by us and are used for:
- Keeping you signed in across pages
- Protecting forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
- Remembering your cookie preferences on this device
- Protecting the site and users from automated abuse (bot protection, by Cloudflare)
2.2 Analytics cookies (not currently in use)
If and when we introduce analytics, these cookies will help us understand how visitors use the directory — which pages are popular, where visitors arrive from, and how the site performs. We will only set analytics cookies on your device if you consent.
2.3 Marketing cookies (not currently in use)
If and when we introduce marketing features, these cookies will support advertising or campaign attribution. We will only set marketing cookies on your device if you consent.
3. Specific cookies we set
The essential cookies currently in use include:
| Name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| aussietrades_directory_session | Keeps you signed in and tracks your session on the directory. | 2 hours of inactivity |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). | 2 hours |
| atd_cookie_consent | Remembers the cookie preferences you set on this device. | 12 months |
| __cf_bm / cf_clearance | Set by Cloudflare for bot management and security. | Up to 30 minutes / 30 days |
4. Third-party cookies
The directory is served through Cloudflare, which sets its own bot-management cookies to protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare’s use of these cookies is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising or social-media cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy, update the cookie preferences modal, and re-ask for your consent.
5. How to manage your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site footer. Opening that link brings up the preferences modal where you can enable or disable non-essential categories.
Essential cookies cannot be disabled from within the directory because the site depends on them. If you wish to block them, you can do so through your browser — see below — but the site will not work correctly for you.
6. Your browser controls
All major browsers allow you to view, delete and block cookies, and to set a “Do Not Track” preference. We honour browser-level blocks at the same level as an in-site preference. See your browser’s documentation for details:
7. How long cookies last
Cookies have one of two retention profiles: session cookies are deleted when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain for a fixed period shown in the table above. You can always delete any cookie earlier through your browser.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use, or when regulations or best practice change. The version and effective date at the top of this page show the current revision. If the change affects consent categories, we will re-ask for your consent on your next visit.
